DESKTOP FACTORY NAMES CATHY LEWIS AS COMPANY'S CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Printing industry veteran joins to lead company's efforts to develop robust and affordable desktop 3D printers
After acting in a consulting role over the past several months, Cathy Lewis has agreed to take on management responsibilities and has been named CEO of Desktop Factory where she will also serve on the company's board of directors.
Before joining Desktop Factory, Ms. Lewis spent nearly five years at IKON as senior vice president of marketing where she was responsible for the ongoing development of IKON's integrated marketing strategies and global branding campaign, as well as product portfolio development/management and channel marketing programs. Before that, she spent more than ten years at Xerox in various executive positions, including vice president of worldwide marketing for the Xerox Color Solutions business unit.
"I am thrilled to be leading such a talented team, building a product that will unleash a new wave of innovation and productivity in a three-dimensional world," said Cathy Lewis. "We believe the opportunity for desktop 3D printing is analogous to what occurred in desktop publishing when the price of laser printers dropped and suddenly there was one on every desktop. We anticipate a wealth of new applications for 3D printing will emerge as devices like the Desktop Factory 125ci printer become widely available."
